So, originally, I was gonna post every day of my beer making experience. But then I realized that not very much changes day by day...so I decided to wait till significant things happened. Then I sorta got lazy...so I'll just sum up the last week and a half.
The beer was in the vat for 5 days total, in which it fermented. This consisted of bubbles forming on the top of the liquid and the lid getting condensation on it. That's about it. On day 4, I took a sample and tested the gravity of it using my gravometer. It was almost ready, so on the next day, I took another reading and decided it was ready to bottle. So, I bottled it and added the carbonation drops, which is just more sugar. Unfortunately, I'm stupid and don't know what 350ml looks like in bottled form. So, I thought my ~20oz bottles were 350ml and only put in 1 carbonation drop per bottle. Turns out they're 740ml bottles and they needed 2 carbonation drops. I figured this out a couple days later and added them, hoping that it'll still work somewhat correctly. Today, the bottles are ready to be moved to a cooler location which also means I can finally turn my heat down from 70 degrees. Another week is left before it is ready to drink...supposedly. I may leave them for another 4 days to account for that little mix up.
Stay tuned till next time...also, I still need a name for this beer. Feel free to comment with suggestions...all you loyal readers...if you're shy, you can post annonymously.
