Kitties!

Man, it's been a long time since my last post. I guess first things first. I adopted 2 kittens yesterday from a shelter. The one is a male domestic tabby named Tsavo. That was his name before I adopted him and I liked it so I decided to keep it. The second is a female black cat that I named Minoa. When I went into the isolation room with them, they were very affectionate. Tsavo kept climbing on my chest and putting his face to mine. And Minoa kept meowing whenever I put her down...which is something they still do.

Unfortunately, they had a bit of a head cold when I got them, so I have to give them meds for the next couple of days...which is a PAIN. It is a bit difficult getting a cat's mouth open. Tsavo is pretty easy, but Minoa just doesn't want to. It took a lot of work for her. I'm just glad it is a liquid and not a pill, that would be much more annoying.

I made the mistake of leaving my bedroom door open when I went to bed. So, around 2 in the morning, I was woken up by a cat jumping next to me on my bed. That was quite a shock. So, I shooed them out, put them in my old comforter and shut the door. They meowed for a little bit, and then decided to take revenge by jumping on top of my TV and knocking the cable box off of it. Tricky little devils.

I haven't quite gotten the kitchen to be 100% cat safe yet, so I erected a temporary barrier of boxes...I don't think it'll hold out for long. I just have to block off behind the fridge and stove, and get a top for my trash can and make sure the floor is free of any leftover food and make sure there isn't any mouse poison laying around.

But, besides the cats, I also have a new bike. It's a hybrid road/mountain bike. I'm going to mainly use it to ride to work, which will become much more difficult when work moves downtown. Hopefully I'll be able to scout out a route sometime today.

I also bought a grill. It was a bitch to put together...holy crap. It took about an hour to put together. Ugh! So, hopefully I'll be grilling on my back porch all throughout the summer.

Well, I think I'm going to take a nap. Waking up at a 2 then waking up again at 6:30 has made me quite tired. Here's a picture of the cats to tide you over.
