Well, I decided to start this blog in order to get a fresh start in blogging and hopefully update it more than my other livejournal (I started this right before sophomore year, though after a year or so I made all subsequent posts private) blog that I had. Plus, I like the layout of blogspot better so I decided to start over with this one.
I chose this title and blog name for a couple of reasons. The simplest reason is that I suck at choosing titles and sorta wanted something catchy, so I eventually remembered this little phrase that I first read in The Moon is a Harsh Mistress, one of my favorite books written by one of my favorite authors, Robert A. Heinlein. Another reason I decided it was a good idea to choose this as a title after I thought of it was because of what it means. It is basically the idea that there is always some sort of price to pay for getting things one desires. You can't just waltz through life getting the things you want without having to pay for it, work for it, or fight for it.
Heinlein is probably my favorite author of all time. Several of his books have had a great impact on my views on life. Perhaps I will write a post about them some other time.
In closing, I will be writing about things I am thinking about, my hopes for the future, projects I am working on, and probably anything interesting I come across that I feel that I should share. Hopefully I will continue to update this regularly and it won't fall by the wayside like my last blog.
